Dinner with my Danish “Meryl Streep“ friend. Thanks for a lovely afternoon and evening. I can’t believe how much fun the kids had.

A beautiful bike ride from Tisvildeleje to Gilleleje with many spectacular beaches to explore. But the 20 km bike ride, on mainly gravel paths, was exhausting for Christoph. He was not in a pleasant mood coming home on the train. Sorry Christoph for planning such long day trips.

Trip with “Uncle Jørgen” to the The Karen Blixen Museum at Rungstedlund with the beautiful garden and bird sanctuary. Pefect timing to see Karen Blixen’s home as the Hudson Book Club is reading Out of Africa for August.

We had a fantastic time at Lejre, the Land of Legends. “10.000 years of Danish history brought to life.” Fun and interesting historic workshops and domestic animals in a beautiful landscape near Roskilde.

Beautiful day in Copenhagen. We are loving the local city beach.

The French Canadian/Danish gang had a lot of fun at the Copenhagen ZOO.

Gabrielle’s old friend from daycare has also grown a few inches since last time. We had a fantastic day in our old neighbourhood, Vanløse. I love your new “cottage” in the backyard.

I must be getting older when an old childhood friend’s son is taller than me.

A quiet day in the big city. We biked to see an old friend and her family on Frederiksberg and we biked to Fælledparken, a large public park in Copenhagen.

We spent a wonderful day with our old neighbour (she is like a grandmother to Gabrielle and Christoph) at her summer cottage in Kulhuse. Lunch at Kulhuse Kro and a short trip to the beach before a storm hit us. Our luggage has arrived and I’m finally online thanks to a neighbour and his magic password!

We biked 30 km today – not bad for Christoph who just turned seven. We went to the popular beach, Bellevue, in Klampenborg, north of Copenhagen. Afterwards, we biked around Dyrehaven, The Deer Park, a beautiful forest park with impressive huge, ancient oak trees and large numbers of deer.
On the more negative side, our luggage was lost at the airport and we are getting tired of wearing the same outfit day in and day out. Please – find our luggage soon!

Rundetårn, The Round Tower, in central Copenhagen offers a fun hike up the ramp to an observation deck where you will be rewarded with a great view of Copenhagen and it’s famous towers.
